So I bought it that way, and now I want to fix it/have it fixed. It reads just over 235k, and is estimated to be around 250k. Both the main odo and the trip meter aren't turning. Is this an easy and/or cheap fix, or should I just learn to live without it?
Thanks for any tips and the like!

There is a small gear inside the speedometer which is most likely gone. There are repair kits available I believe. Might try on brickboard.com and go in to the RWD section. A similar gear goes out on the 850 series. Also check IPD's website as them may have both gears and instructions.
