the smell sounds like the CAT has excessive hydrocarbons (unburned fuel) this is most likely caused by faulty ignition.

did you check the injector connectors? remove and clean. check for water in the injector, where the connector goes.

remove the injector connectors and inspect. check the injector for water at the connector pins.

The cars been dry now for three days , so no water could survive the 90+ degree Cali sun. Since replacing crank shaft sensor and mass air flow sensor, no lights are on, but it feels like and smells like cat has issues and it was replaced like five months ago. Could the was have messed it up? And the injectors didn’t have water in them when I checked the day of the wash and the next day. I could kick myself for being such a dummy!! Thanks everyone your time and help is extremely appreciated. Suggestions ?
God bless

the cat smell is most likely due to a rich condition, or from the ignition problem.
And fault codes? check at the diag. connector, driver's side (left) behind strut tower. Pin 2 is ign and pin 6 is fuel.

did you get the correct P/N air mass meter?
remove and check the spark plugs, again?
check/test the O2 sensor?
