Electric motor sound? 2003 S80

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Electric motor sound? 2003 S80

Post by John Callahan »

Hope someone can tell me if this is a problem or not. After I shut the engine down there is a sound that sounds like a small electric motor running. It only lasts for a few seconds, is intermittent, and only happens two or three times after each shut down. I thought it was automatic leveling until I found out that my car doesn't have it.
Thank you

Another problem that I'd like to mention, and only because I don't know where else to mention it, is that due to a computer crash I lost all my "user name/Passwords. So found it impossible to log on to this site without a user name and searched in vain for a way around it. Finally had to establish a new e-mail account and register as a new user. Don't know that this is really important but it sure is frustrating.

Don't know what to tell you about your second problem but I can probably give you some insight about the fan that's coming on after you turn your car off. It's normal. Especially if you've been running your A/C it comes on to get any condensation out of the system that might remain. In the 850 days this condensation was what killed the A/C evaporator, so it's a really nice thing that this happens now with newer models.
