Crank no start...... but will start

Hi everyone, so this is my first forum ever ! Please be patient with me

I have recently purchased a V70 T5 2001 manual ... it has a few issues of which I’m working my way through.
The biggest issue I have at the moment is .. it will crank but no start.... however if you mess with the cranking times with the key it will start. Once started it’s perfect. I have good pressure at the rail, I’ve changed all injectors, it has a new crankshaft position sensor, a new cam sensor, new battery.
Any ideas where to go next.... many thanks

Old starter may create a lot of interference in crankshaft position sensor. ECU does not see CPS -> does not know when to start firing.

Interference is most likely. does it do it in hot weather? above 25c. Have you had the "start inhibited try again" message then check the key transponder/imobiliser.

Thanks for the reply.... I should have added that I’ve changed the halo as the very first job. Also I’m in England so 25c doesn’t happen that often

I dont think its the starter as much as the Crank sensor wiring that goes near it. If my car continues to exibit this "hard starting" that will be my next attempt at a fix. Also removing the ECM and cleaning the pins.

Nice, when you had the starter out did you notice any build up of what looks like clutch disk material in the bellhousing?

Not to any great amount, flywheel teeth were a bit worn and getting the intercooler pipe back on the throttle body was a pig.....
