Buying a 2006 Volvo xc90!

Post by DustyBawls »

Hello there, i am buying a 2006 Volvo xc90 2.5t, well maintained with 310,000kms. I just want to know what should I be wary of in terms of maintenance and what I should be looking before I buy it. Any advice would be nice really, I'm buying this car on Thursday for 1350 CAD so I'm going to be a proud and new old Volvo very soon!

It is cheap so make sure it has papers with maintenance and repairs and it shows several repairs done recently. At 300K km is a big gambling. Need to drive it for at least 10 minutes to warm up the transmission, should be shifting without big kicks and especially without slipping

The 2.5T engine is generally regarded pretty well, with no major chronic issues. Many people have significantly more miles on it than the one you're looking at. That said, use the due care you would for any car that's 14 years old with >300,000km's! At that age, it's really all about the care and maintenance that it's received. Good luck!
