So, intermittent Misfire back today. Spoke with mechanic who suspects two of the new coils could be bad. I'll swap out with some of the old coils and check it out. Failing MAF is also a possibility. Watch this space. I'll keep it updated.

So VIDA had given me misfire and another code ECM 130A - induction leak.

If I have a bad MAF will it give a MAF-specific code, or could the cylinder misfire codes be the only codes I'll ever see?

Here's my issue. Since the misfire is intermittent, if I switch in a couple different coils and it goes away, it could simply be due to the intermittent nature of the fault, not the fact that I put new coils in.

Switched coil #5 with #1, #4 with #2, no misfires, so either the issue is intermittent, or MAF could be suspect.

If we do Hazleton I’ll try find my spare good P2 coils.

With two cylinders misfiring, don’t read too much into that MAF CODE.

IF the car is missing on two, air flow will be crappy and spurious codes will abound.

I don’t think MAF will give misfire like that, coils much more likely. Don’t rule out plugs either. Remember my famous “ one week after out of box “ failure

Just a couple comments to help you (and us) troubleshoot.
1) My original advice about the MAF was only geared toward the "limp home mode", not an intermittent misfire. I'd move on from the MAF at this time.
2) Your 2nd to the last last post mentioned a misfire code...cylinder specific or generic (ie. ECM 3503)? Please list codes after each reappearing failure.
3) If not a specific cylinder, you may have fixed a grounding issue when reinstalling the coils switching cylinders.
4) Did you/your mechanic install Volvo spark plugs? If not, what did you install? As abscate suggested earlier, check the plugs, regap and reinstall, or move to a different plug. I'm a firm believer in only using Volvo plugs if you want long, failure free performance. Cost more but no hassles later.

Latest update -ECM 91B7 -Throttle Valve, faulty signal. Looks like could be time for a new throttle body, no?

On starting today, rough, lumpy idle with rpm fluctuations, felt like cylinder misses, but no codes for cylinder misfires.

Bad throttle body looks like the issue.

I would still try some coil swaps. Remember that misfire codes have to satisfy software conditions, they aren’t immediate

Did you change the plug boots along withe thee coils ? I JUST HAD THE SAME PRoblem on# 5 and found out the boot had split around the plug allowing a short to plug hole wall
