Intercooler replacement cost at private import dealer?

Post by Volvos »

2006 xc90 2.5T intercooler replacement

Due to a front end collision last fall I noticed several small holes in the intercooler and it’s triggering a p0101 fault code and probably getting all sorts of dirty air and gunk in the engine—anyone have any guidance with respect to repair costs on what a reasonable import shop should charge for a replacement? I’m in Kearney Nebraska

Thx

Part from a site sponsor appears to be around $500 new. You should be able to source a used one as well.

If you have a copy of VIDA you can see what steps are required. I have not done it, but I think the radiator has to come out to get to the intercooler. See here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=78115&p=419508&hil ... nt#p419508

If you can not do it, call around and get a quote. Ask the shop if they will install a used part. I would guess 3-4 hours.
