You mean if they are old, then they should be replaced? But then again, how old is old?
New 850. What stuff are a MUST to replace/repair if the maintenance history is unknown?

1996 is old. Many of these cars are still on the factory wires. 10 years is not old. Somewhere in between it's up to you. Aftermarket is old, those won't have a date code either.eightfifty2x0 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2020, 00:27You mean if they are old, then they should be replaced? But then again, how old is old?

Yeah I'd agree with this, I had some original ignition coils on my car and one day randomly it started misfiring hard so I had to get it towed home. If you want it to be reliable they might be worth swapping out.erikv11 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2020, 01:371996 is old. Many of these cars are still on the factory wires. 10 years is not old. 1996 IS WAY OLD. Without ODB2 and VIDA, the OP will forever tinker in OLD set up. I feel 1996 is not worth the time and money, not to mention the toll it will take on his family life, unless.smacknab wrote: ↑27 Jun 2020, 08:29Yeah I'd agree with this, I had some original ignition coils on my car and one day randomly it started misfiring hard so I had to get it towed home. Volvo has discontinued making parts for P80.

(Brittle lines/pipe) All the vacuum lines under the hood that run around the various engine components. If you have a turbo there are a lot more lines. Under the hood there is usually a sticker with the vacuum lines and where they go. With age this sometimes fall off. If you let us know is you have a turbo or non-turbo (NA) then someone may be able to post you a copy of it.
Around the rest of the car yo can get headlight washer lines, windshield washer lines, brake lines and more.
These are nice cars to drive. I rebuilt a 97 850 NA and drove it to California with my brother. The car was for his daughter and they still have it today running well.

Vovlo has stopped making many of the P80 parts. But they do have a classics supplier of OE parts in Sweden that dealers can access. PArts do take a while to sometimes get here but they do have a website. Skandix is also a great support as are the many suppliers in places like Sweden.
