Hi,
Yesterday I drove home (65km) my 5th XC70 in a year and a half.
Main issues are lack of power, message "REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE and non functional instrument cluster
Got my codes here
After ERASE ALL
Car config
VIDA DIAGNOSTIC NETWORK TAB
Regarding the DIM, none of the needles move, LCDs are garbled EXCEPT the information panel at the left side
This panel has the following error messages
REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE
ENGINE SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED
PARK ASSIST SERVICE REQUIRED
BULB FAILURE POSITION LIGHT
FOUR-C SERVICE REQUIRED
A/C is non funcitonal, relay is probably removed
I have checked nothing so far except the codes and reading on this forum.
My initial guess is that codes ECM-941D ECM-970B accelerator pedal AP sensor signal missing / too low are the cause of the reduced performance message and lack of power.
Strange thing though is I have good throttle control. The engine feels anemic but it will rev in proportion to how I push on the pedal. While driving I reached a maximum speed of 102KM/H. I maintained speeds between 75 and 100 KM/H depending on grade and the good will of the transmission.
ECU-box cooling fan, I have read in another post on this forum that this could also cause the issue, ambient temperatures at this time of year are around 25C.
DIM failure could be unrelated ?
So much red on the NETWORK tab though, could there be a CANBUS problem ? Frayed wiring somewhere shorting out the bus maybe.
Has anyone ever tried running wireshack in CANBUS sniffing mode on these cars ?
From what I understand, there are only 1 high speed bus and one low speed bus ? Maybe I could sniff the buses and just clear the health of the bus ?
Here are the threads I have reviewed already on this subject, it is inconclusive EXCEPT for ECM-680B ECU-box cooling fan - Signal missing.

Did you resolve this issue?
I’m getting ECM-941D, ECM-970B, ECM-520B and ECM-630D along with reduced engine performance message on a 2006 XC90 2.5T.
The (10A)A/C+throttle fuse in the engine bay keeps breaking immediately. Will try a a/c refrigerant refill first.

This one is easy,
the engine computer fan will cause all those codes and more as soon as the computer gets too hot.
the 5 amp fuse for the fan is in the power distribution box in the engine bay.
