SC-901 3 Disc in dash CD player

Post by subzerocarfanatic »

I tried cleaning the laser eye after sliding the magazine out like the post I found suggested. I used Isopropyl alcohol on a cotton cue tip and still the CD keeps cycling it sounds like, the disc seems to load in spot but after a few sconds it will not play and keeps recycling or trying to load over and over, any suggestions?

That is a shame. Perhaps it is just a bad unit. Wish I was closer and I would look at the SC-901 for you. I do find that IPA can sometimes leave a film on anything you clean with it. PITA, but maybe worth another round of cleaning and follow up with a clean cotton bud to wipe any residue.

The SC-900 was known for this, but the SC-901 was not immune to this issue as well.

Give it one more try. Cleaning brings it back to life if laser is still in working order. I have fixed two SC-901 units this way.

Stupid question but are you playing an actual CD or one you burned. I found it would do that with cd's that were of DVD format or burned as a storage disk. Mine did the same thing with cd's not burned properly

Ok everyone. I finally got the CD Player working, wow what an amazing sound system this car has,the best by far I have ever heard in factory form! I am amazed at the concert sound,if only my Pro-Logic option would work properly.
Both side rear speakers for back seat passengers cut out to low and kind of static and distorted sound when pro-logic option is chosen.
Someone mentioned a pro-logic decoder box or something, i looked behind the deck when I had the SC-901 pulled out and I see nothing at all there, where exactly is it located on the 2000 C70 Convertible?

Behind the SC-901 head then down. Just follow the DIN cable. Which is plugged in to the back of the head.

Can anyone tell me what some of the signs are if the dolby pro-logic audio unit is going out, or what symptoms arise if it is going bad
