is it possible that my transmission hard shifts/noisy problem when I brake(downshifts) or start from a stop (upshifts ) is caused by my transmission oil overfill>?
It dipstick level shows around hot top mark when the car sat overnight and is cold with engine off. When you start engine the oil level supposed to drop?-that is confusing to me--whe are you supposed to read the levels?
motor oil is at the same level regardless the engine is on or off

The engine oil level will change between sitting cold and running.
A transmission circulates ATF into many moreplaces than the engine, so most manufacturers specific a temperature and conditions to check the fluid level.
