The C70 has a much different amp to a sedan/wagon. I don't know if it has a separate Dolby unit or if it is integrated. I am assuming you have a center speaker on the dash? There was a thread recently on problems with a 'regular amp' that someone had just fitted. It was dirty/bad connections that were the issue on the cables. As you know the amp is in the trunk on LHS behind a panel. Check it's connectors too.

Separate dolby unit on the C70, plugs into the back off the SC-901 like on the V/S70.

The separate Dolby Pro Logic unit is Volvo part number 3533799.
1998 - 2004 C70 Convertible
1998 - 2002 C70 Coupe

Yeah, i had the amp out a few months ago when detailing the trunk area and installing new bulbs and tail light housing and I cleaned all the connections before installing it back but i will trace the pro-logic wire to find it and clean all connectors.I assume electronic cleaner or isopropyl is sufficient.

Contact cleaner is best as it does not leave a filmy residue like IPA does.

Volvo’s are judgy. They won’t play any music by a Madonna, the BeeGees, or Supertramp.

Classical will always work, as well as anything by Prince.

I can't wait to hear the full stage sound of the Pro-Logic when it is working properly,I was blown away by how good this system sounds,best factory stereo I have ever heard!
