Fuel Filter Relocation/alternatives

Post by alpha318 »

Alright everyone! I have a brain teaser for you.
On a 98 Volvo V70 XC, chassis #505 , has anyone attempted a fuel filter Relocation?
Or, even better, a fuel filter canister conversion?

The fuel filters are 100k service interval item. I’ve opened two of them and found nothing in them. Honestly, they probably will last a lifetime for most Volvos if never changed.

It seems like a lot of work for something that rarely needs to be touched. What are you hoping to gain?

Water seperation.
We have bad fuel in this chunk of Montana, so higher than usual, levels of water-in-fuel.
And there is only so much cans of sea foam will do.
