'06 V70 R -- DIM Display Flickering

Daughter reports for 1st 30 min. of operation the digital readouts for messages, odometer, trip odometer are flickering. Loose wire, bad bulbs? We're up around 220k miles.

Any suggestions appreciated. I haven't dealt with the digital display before. I have replaced dash bulbs in a P80 before though.

Mine was doing the same, i replaced the headlight switch and fixed the problem.
Also i suggest replacing bulbs with LEDs, these lights are "always on, with ignition"

Volvo 3073916 should be what you need. They are $20-30 on eBay most of the time. Or find someone parting out an XC70/V70R/S60R or anything (P2) that has factory equipped fogs.

I’d send you my spare but it’s been repurposed.

I looked & I do have another LSM from a non-front-fog equipped P2 you can have just to verify if replacing the LSM will cease the flickering. To clarify, the LSM I’m talking about has rear fog light button only, no front fog light button. Or just grab the one out of your XC70 to see if it fixes the flickering.

06 uses LEDs in DIM. It might be a problem with the LED driver, or with the LED itself.

Tin pest is also not unlikely. Earlier P2s had this problem en masse.
