Finally had enough of not being able to work on the cars due to lack of equipment and space. Still waiting for the contractor to get started on the new shop attached to the house.

Decided t make a run to PnP as finally there are a few P80's there and strangely, 4/5 of the cars were black. 3 S70's and one C70 coupe. 5th one was a (badly) wrapped S70.

Called my buddy who bought my V70 base project to see if he wanted to join in. We went to the PnP with the majority of cars (masked all the way). Turned out he had a shopping list as a buddy of his was looking for parts from the C70 like the seats. So spent more time there than planned!! Came home with stuff I did not plan on. 2 x SC-900 head units, a Dolby unit and one cable and amp. Not sure if one of the SC-900's and Dolby init will be any good as car was missing the windshield and dash top (someone had destroyed that removing the center speaker.

That PnP is terrible for water retention. Naturally the one I wanted to look at most was in the muddy wet area. A 99 S70 AWD. Rear Nivos looked good. I would have like to harvest those and the angle gear and prop-shaft. Unfortunately on-going shoulder and back issues prevented crawling around under the car. Maybe try again!

Best was they lovely ladies at the check out gave me good prices on all the parts including the rear door locks actuators and fan relays. I said they had not sent out any sales recently. Response was they had no need to as as they were getting over 500 visits a day!!!

Dolby unit has no speaker feed cable. Is there anyway to test it without that? I do have the head-unit to Dolby unit cable.

I need to replace my center speaker. The yards around here rarely get any cars with SC901s.

There is a guy in Calgary trying to sell the whole dash top (he had 2 or 3 of them). They were dark gray/black. He wanted $150 CDN for them. He knows the speaker covers are no longer available.

Hy Buddies !

I hope that all of you are fine. The French Broadcasts sell us, everyday, horribles numbers of some Americans fellows that catch this f*ckinf flew...

...

The lesson of the day : stop working with Chinese tools !

Today, I've decided to spend less energy to try to keep driving stable on the road, so I've changed my control arms. As you can see, there's a half bolt on place. That makes me think it hasn't been done recently...

The tie rod don't looks more happy , I'm a bit afraid to do that job for ne the first time but I 'm not gonna have the choice...

If you managed control arms then you'll find tie-rod ends to be very simple. Afterall, once the car is jacked up its only two bolts per side! A tip, if I may: make sure both sides of the car are jacked up. If not there will be a lot of tension on the ARB, making it harder to fit the new parts. It is still possible, but you'll need some serious leverage.

Search this forum for recommendations of maintenance for this level of miles and years. Consider any rubber components that have never been replaced to be getting near end of life. Best of luck and enjoyment with your new ride.
