C70 (B5204T3) trouble starting and rough runing

Post by slklite »

Hello guys and vals

I own a C70 from 1999 (ME7), and it's been tuning good for the last 2 years.

Yesterday i changed the front hub bearing assemblé, and After that car wouldn't start. The starting problem did happen before. No cela or fault code ...
If i insist a lot (more than 30sec cranking) it starts to cough and then engine comes back from the dead... But once it starts, i can hear it tuning rough. Exhaust smell is bad and a lot of backfire...

I scanned it for fault codes, and nothing !!!

The few times it hapenned before, once it starts, just have to turn it off and back on again, and all it's all back to normal.
But this time, it wouldn't run normally...
I'm suspecting the crankshaft sensor, as when i crank, the rev counter barely moves...

Do you have any ideas ?

Thanks.

More likely to be a throttle body problem. How old is the throttle body?

I don't know.

According to measured values, it looks to be moving properly.

Is there a way to check for sure ?

My c70 does the same if I let it sit. Narrowed it down to the fuel pump. Can’t hold pressure in the line when it sits for a few days so it’s really hard to start. Try there.

All right, good. You might be right as i saw that the fuel pressure wasn't very high when i checked the "check valve"

Another thing is that spark seems quite weak

I'll try to take a video to show these problems.

Thanks for your insight.

Spark was always weak looking on mine. so i figured it to be normal. With a good fuel pump though he fires right up

I remember cranking with injectors out of the intake port and they seemed to be giving enough fuel, but i might be wrong...
