My 2012 XC60 died after going over RR tracks. I was not driving. Car says something like engine service need.

What could cause the engine to shutoff and not stay running? It will start but as soon as the engine drops to idle speed it will die. My spouse said they slowed down for the RR tracks, went over the tracks, heard and felt the usual bumps, then continued to drive but car had no power, spouse could not get up to the speed limit.

$400 tow fee WITH roadside assistance. Last time I use roadside assistance.

Almost but not quite.

It took me 15 min to fix it once it was back home.

When my spouse ran over the RR tracks, the bumps were enough to cause the intake pipe to come off of the throttle body.

The car would start but as soon as I rpms dropped to idle it would die. When I saw that my first thought was MAFS. Turns out I was sort of right.
