Hi all,
With a VIDA scanner will I be able to reset my service light, program remotes? Does anyone have a link for info on just what I could do with this? Here is a eBay link. Would this be the right one?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/VIDA-DICE-2014 ... 4902.l9144
Thanks

I don't know anything about VIDA, but the service light (the one that literally says "Service") can be reset in my s70 with a trick of holding down the trip odometer reset button and turning the key to position 2 until it starts flashing and then turning the key back and removing it. Or something like that, there is a video and another website has a write up on it in text.

Doesn't work on mine. Seems there is a point where they changed. What year is your S70?smacknab wrote: ↑20 Jul 2020, 12:00 I don't know anything about VIDA, but the service light (the one that literally says "Service") can be reset in my s70 with a trick of holding down the trip odometer reset button and turning the key to position 2 until it starts flashing and then turning the key back and removing it. You need a reset tool for a 98 for the Service light. There used to be cheap tools out there that could do that and the Airbag light on the 98's but I am not sure if the icarsoft will work on a 98. Vida only works on 99- P80 car electronics and software.
The Vol-Fcr and a VW connector cable to your laptop is the way to go. If you post a request for help on that or look at the Forum specific for that there is a lot of info in there.

For a 98, to program remotes you must go to the dealer or a shop that has the dealer software.
The best way to reset the service light is to remove the bulb. Foolproof, permanent and trouble-free.

If you have an Android device, you can use
xiaotec "850 OBD-II" Android app (available on Google Play) for ~$2 + ELM327-compatible Bluetooth tool.
Some ELM327-compatible Bluetooth tools I've used successfully with "850 OBD-II" app:
- ScanTool.net OBDLink LX BT [recommended]
- ScanTool.net OBDLink MX+ [the most useful long term, though the costliest] [most highly recommended] [this is MX+, not MX BT or MX WiFi]
- BAFX Bluetooth [adequate, cheapest of the 3]
Here's a related post with a little more detail:

I have used the free Noxplayer with 850 OBD-II it works good. There are both PC and Mac versions of NoxPlayer.
There are a bunch of Android emulators for Linux. I have not tried any of them.
There is good chance any Android emulator will work with 850 OBD-II.

I already use Torque Pro with a OBDII bluetooth. Works great for basic system codes, live data. I was just thinking of a more advance scanner. Going to wait for now. Thanks for all the input.
