Ugh - Jimmy has posted that sometimes they had to take the ECC out of the car and install it in another one if it got the calibration really scrambled. Maybe there is another 99 or 00 nearby

worst case scenario ill just lock the flaps/doors for cold during summer and hot during winter.

Have you tried another ECC control module? They are pretty cheap on eBay, or put ina junkyard request

Well, problem might just be solved. Picked up yet another control panel / module or whatever its called and hooked it up. No blinking lights. The damper motors are just hanging by their wires now and when I turned the temp gauges and directional gauge they all turn! Thank you lord. I'm gonna install them and calibrate them without worthless vida this time to avoid any potentional mishaps. Usually I want to know what was wrong and learn from problems I solve but this time I dont give a flying fu$k as long as it works. Yay!

I am having the exact same issue as you had. How do you perform the manual calibration (without VIDA).?

On a 2000 it self calibrates. If you just replace the control unit in the dash you should have no problems
