s70 PCV kit

Hi guys, quick question regarding PCV kit, I've done the usuall test and im 99% sure i need to replace the PCV, but the problem is im not sure which one is compatible with my S70. Some information that I know regarding the car.

its a 1997, with a B5254FS engine and AW42 auto transmission also non turbo.

You got a link to where you intend to buy the kit? There is no official Volvo part number for a PCV kit. The kits are put together by the Vendor.

i tried searching according for 1997 but apparently no s70 so i assume mine is a 1998, most of the details i mention above i got from the car's vin number. Also im from South East Asia so getting these parts new from online stores are gonna cost a penny to get them shipped. Would it be worth asking a volvo dealer for the genuine volvo parts and assembling the kit myself by getting the other things (ie. the seals, clamps and stuff) from fcpeuro

Us market got s,v70 in '98.
Eu market had them in '97.

That's why it doesn't appear in search for '97.

FCP Euro is a North American vendor. We did not get the 1997 S70 in North America.That is why your not finding information for the 1997 S70 on the FCP website. You should have better luck on a European parts supplier's website.

Thanks for the info guys! any suggestion for good parts supplier's that i should look into. As i'm from Asia I've been trying to find 'local' part suppliers, but so far no luck

There are members from Australia and New Zealand maybe one of them will have a suggestion. That is closer to you then Europe.

I know one of our regulars from Australia uses US suppliers as they found the prices were better than their local suppliers. From your part of the world, you may not have many options. I would then suggest looking to companies in Europe like Skandix in Germany, Parts for Volvos on-line:

There are a few companies in Sweden as well.

Otherwise there are the usual suspects in US like FCPEuro and IPDUSA and several others. I guess shipping rates will possibly make a big difference in cost. Generally I have had lower shipping from Europe but it may depend on where it is going.

Main thing to watch for is the quality of aftermarket part, in particular rubber components. If you have any dubts, please ask the guys here for their opinions.

I find the US suppliers can be expensive for shipping, but for parts not available the US market, I use partsforvolvosonline.com.
They have the euro model specific parts and parts for correct hand drive.
Always check with your local dealership, sometimes they can supply parts over for slightly less than the part and shipping charged by off shore independent suppliers.
