They are usually a 6mm Hex but I also had a 7mm once.

I have a set that has both metric and imperial, in a 3/8" drive that have worked for me many times.

A suggestion is to clean out the hex heads of the bolts as best you can, and then tap the socket when in the bolt head to help the threads release. They can be difficult to get loose and take a bit of torque so be careful not to round the heads. I have been able to get damaged ones out with a 'Mole-Grip' brand (good quality) locking wrench.

Adding to old thread

You have

6 hex fasteners on the front cv, mine were H6
6 fasteners on the rear CV, also H6

Then there are two m8 ( 12mm hex) bolts that hold in the center carrier bearing above the exhaust pipe

These are tough to access, bottom one easy, I was able to crack the top one sneaking in a ratchet wrench between the pipe and shaft. The plate under the exhaust also comes down for access, 4 M8 bolts

All wheels need to be to spin the shaft to access the H6 bolts , I think?

On my P2 car, I removed the drive shaft with the rear wheels on ramps. I was able to spin the drive shaft as needed to access the H6 bolts. The rear haldex is normally not engaged. Not sure about P80 cars.

For P2 or P80 the front wheels need to be free if the angle gear to collar junction is still intact, but often the AG is toast and the reason for removing the drive shaft.
