I have a 2001 Volvo S60, base model, and I could use some help with getting parts. My fiance has cancer, among other health issues, and goes 3 times a week to see her doctors (each time is around a 60 mile round trip). This is our only car, she's not able to work, and I'm disabled. My LSM doesn't work, so I have no control over my headlights at all, so anytime she's in the hospital I end up having to leave to get home before it starts getting dark. Also my front right strut assembly is almost bottomed out and needs to be replaced. If you, or anyone else, can offer some help we would truly appreciate it. I can't afford new parts right now, and I haven't had the time to track down working used parts. Thank you in advance for your time, and for providing this opportunity for people in need. I can make payments for the parts if I need to, but I'll need to do it over time.

Maybe this would help?

I have a usable take off strut and some related parts if needed for this request.

I attempted to try the resoldering fix, but the parts are too small for me to see and I didn't feel comfortable trying it.
Ok, so the parts needed are 2001 S60 (or any P2 equivalent) front right strut assembly and light switch module.

volvolugnut has the strut.

Anybody have an LSM?

I took my LSM apart, and looking at how small the surface mount parts are it doesn't look as easy as he makes it look in the video. I could be wrong though, and can give it another try to see if I can get mine to work. Thank you for the link to the video.

We really appreciate the help guys. I will pay you back for the parts/shipping costs, but it'll have to be in payments.

Is this a complete bolt on assembly, with everything needed from top to bottom, or just the bare strut itself?

Bare strut only available with spring cushion. Installation may need other parts that I do not have. Spring? Soft top cushion, boot, bearing plate, hardware needed?

I honestly don't know what it needs besides the strut. Is there a way to tell before removing it? Is the spring hard to swap over without hurting myself, or breaking anything?
