04 V70 .
Engine started with a loud clunking noise, ran smooth but clunked again when I shut it off.
I dismissed starter because it occurs on shutdown too, I did check to make sure its not loose.
Maybe its the timing pulley coming loose again, pulled the wheel and looked, still good, i had painted reference marks so I can see if the big pulley nut moves.
Next in line has to be motor mounts.
They load up when the engine starts and unload when engine stops, so I thought.
The car is on deaths doorstep.
Thats what the neighbors call my house, anyway it runs perfect now.

thanks, both of my xc70s stabilizer bars are not "rock solid" they are meant to move, or so i think.
