Great info all, thank you!

Stupid question. What book do you guys use for the XCs? I swear the Haynes manual I already have for the V70 says it's not for AWD. Do they mean the AWD components aren't in the book because I thought it was the same 2.5T motor in the XC that the 2.5 V70 had.

Additionally, my steering wheel was NASTY when I bought the car. I have since cleaned it but it's still a little sticky (ick). Is there a steering wheel cover you'd recommend? Remember the old school leather wrap one with the cord? Anyone? Haha. I don't think the seats are leather either although I guess I could look that up by VIN. A little disappointing but they're comfy so who cares.

I think he meant “Lesjoförs”, and HD for XC springs. Maybe I’m wrong though.
I neglected the ATF! Evan is right, Toyota T4, Aisin 3309 ATF, even Jimmy57 endorses the use of Valvoline Maxlife ATF. I recently have been dabbling in switching cars over from T4 to Maxlife. So far I’ve only done 1 of them and the shifting hasn’t degraded from excellent at all.

Starbuck... try some Isopropyl alcohol on that icky leather and lots of paper towels. Finish off with a good leather conditioner, my favourite is Connolys

Pete's correct on the springs. Lesjofors. And I should care more about the umlaut over the second "o" than I do, since I actually speak Swedish, but I can't figure it out on the phone, so. . .

Baby wipes will work pretty well on the steering wheel.

HAHAHAHA! I couldn't figure out how to post a picture of him! Are we sure it's leather? I think the seats are vinyl or they're the weirdest leather I've ever seen. Perhaps the Swedes made their leather out of the hides of their Russian enemies from way back when?

I'll try and figure out the picture thing especially as I love posting repair how-tos.

Last night I ordered Motul 8100, CHF 11s, oil filters from ipd and I looked at a slew of other kits they have. Tomorrow I've got a PPI scheduled and I imagine the suspension needs refreshing. I expect to be busy happily tinkering for a while. Totally worth it.

Re: Seats. The seating surfaces are leather, coated with a rubberized dye/paint. Other surfaces vinyl.

Baby wipes with an old fashioned shoeshine action work a treat on the steering wheel. Magic eraser on the door panels, but not on any glossy surface.

My "book" is called MVS. Never bought any kind of book for these. I have the interwebs.

FCPEuro has lifetime parts warranty.

Thank you. Hope do you guys condition your seats? I like my cars to look as new/good as possible.

Also, what are your experiences with the lifetime warranty of FCP. I've bought Bavarian parts from them before but nothing has broken yet. Are you saying if I buy my control arm bushings from them and they wear out normally, I'll send the old boys back and get new ones? Also, is there any reason I should buy loaded control arms?

Anyone here have the VIDA thing? It's on my list to buy.
