I had a mechanical tensioner moment and undid the nut on the hydraulic tensioner in Earl

I think I just need to remove the whole thing to counterhold and tighten the tensioner axial nut again

See pic...the detail isn’t given there

Abscate or anyone else, does anyone have a VIN sequence showing whether your car has the hydraulic or mechanical tensioner without having to do any disassembly to check?

This is a hydraulic tensioner.

I undid the wrong bolt , the one in the actual rotating part , and can’t tighten it now

I tried to remove the T45 holding the assembly on and couldn’t move it.

Sigh.

So you can't get the T45 to budge? Is this engine in the car?

Here’s a pic from an engine that’s out, sorry for blur, Iphone camera is dying

I took the pulley nut off, and now can’t counterhold whatever is on the back

I’ll either have to get that T45 out or take off the timing cover and wheel the pulley around to the front to get at it
