I don’t think it will be a problem. Worse comes to worst, you can swap your original spring over to this strut. The struts should all be the same, it’s the springs that are different. How different? Probably not much.

Looks like they have different struts and springs both. Since that's for AWD, and I only have FWD, will the travel be the same between to two? I'm not trying to be picky, just trying to be safe. I already know what I have now isn't safe.

Travel is likely the same, it's probably just a little stiffer. I know for the XC90, for example, they just superseded the standard strut with the sport version. The fact that they did that shows that there likely isn't a huge difference in the PNs.
Especially considering that it's used, it should most likely be no problem at all.

No worries about being picky, I understand the concern! Volvo had a lot of different options for P2s, more than I knew about. One of the P2 experts could probably chime in on this, but I'm not totally sure about the differences.

LSM arrived today, and I installed it in about 5 minutes. All is working with the lights now. I can even access the hidden dtcs menu now. Thank you Pete!

Quick question about the LSM. My original one doesn't have a fuel button on it, just the rear fog lights button. What exactly does the fuel button do, and will it effect anything having a different LSM?

My pleasure!

That’s only on the higher end models. It is only to be used once your fuel light comes on. It transfers an imaginary 5 gallons from your auxiliary fuel tank to your primary.

It just unlocks the fuel door.

I can see where the locking pin is for the fuel door, and I'm assuming a previous owner didn't know that it locked, or couldn't figure out how to unlock it, so the tab that would lock it shut, on the door itself, is broken. The button would be a nice feature, but it wouldn't really do me any good now.

I'm just thankful the LSM works, even if it does have an extra button on it, and I can drive in the dark now when I need to. I can also read the dash now, and the radio too, so those are just an added bonus.

I will update the thread again when I get the strut you sent me, and swap it with my bad one, to let you and everyone else know if it works out ok or not. I'm hoping it does.
