Re: FDPP #2
Some kind of delay with the USPS. Strut didn't arrive today, and haven't gotten any update from them on when it will be here, or where it's currently at. Got to Columbus at 11:28pm on Thursday, and that's an hour away from me. Not sure what's going on, but I hope it didn't get lost or broken.

I saw that too. It’s packed pretty darn well in a box that an actual strut came in. I think it’s integrity will be preserved. I also had a USPS package that was supposed to arrive today that is delayed. I have noticed shipments taken a day or so longer than expected.

Just typical USPS BS. It'll probably show up Monday.

It went from Columbus, Ohio, to Toledo, Ohio, and now it's in Detroit, Michigan??? Was the scenic route included in the shipping?
I know people make mistakes, and if that's the only one to happen this week then I'm ok with it. My fiance is having surgery tomorrow morning, and I'm really hoping it goes better than the last one did. It took her four days to get the anesthesia to fully wear off, and it freaked us both out. We're both stressed out, and worried, and she's afraid to have surgery again because she doesn't think she'll wake up this time.
She's only 30, and has already been through a lot. She's tough though, but at the same time sometimes it seems like she's ready to just give up. I don't want that to happen, and it's rough to watch. Nobody that young should have to go through what she is now, and what she has already.
I didn't plan on going off topic, but I needed to get that out. I've also been debating on whether to start a cancer support group on here for people going through cancer themselves, or have loved ones that are fighting this horrible disease. Also it would be for those still dealing with the loss of someone from cancer. I don't know how many members on here would be interested in a cancer support group thread, but you can send me a PM if you are and I'll start one up.

Yeah, USPS has a habit of doing that, it’s ridiculous.
Best of luck to you and your fiancé, I’m sure it’s a really tough situation. I couldn’t imagine. My prayers are with you!

In my opinion, a cancer/caregiver support group is a great idea. My wife has some long term health issues. I know how hard and trying it can be to have a sick spouse and be a long term caregiver.gnalan wrote: ↑09 Aug 2020, 09:27 It went from Columbus, Ohio, to Toledo, Ohio, and now it's in Detroit, Michigan??? Strut finally showed up yesterday. I'm not sure if the top plate was bent before shipping, or if it happened during shipping, but the high side ears are bent down slightly and the studs aren't pointing straight up like the one on the low side is. Is this normal, and I'm just looking at it wrong? I haven't had a chance to pull my strut to compare the two. The bearing still feels fine so I don't think anything else was damaged, assuming it is.

The top plate was not bent before I put it in the box. If the box isn’t obviously damaged, you can assume that the top plate is fine. The plate does have sort of a domed shape to it. No, the studs do not all point perfectly vertically. This is normal.

Nothing that keeps the car from running, as far as I know. The left rear door module might be going bad, since the lock works intermittently, and on the rod going to the outside handle the little plastic piece that holds it onto the handle crumbled to dust. The siren is bad, too, but again it doesn't keep the car from being drivable either.
I do have a fuel leak, which I thought I already fixed when I put a new fuel pump in, but the sending unit on the driver's side is leaking around the outer edge. It could be the plastic hold down ring, the sending unit itself, the seal, or a combination of those parts. I haven't had time to pull it back out again to check the parts/seal, so I'm not sure why it's leaking. Fuel tank is plastic.
