This thread helped me out today.
Ive been chasing a no start with Earl, a 1998 V70 NA which has compression, timing, spark, and fuel.
Main relay went bad.
I just checked the resistance on the cam sensor 9146180 and its 300kOhm - open circuit on my cheap meter - per Roberts Video should be about 500-1000 Ohm
It appears P80s use either the BOSCH 9146180 /internal cam position sensor
they can have a DENSO sensor (9202134) which inserts into a boss external in the housing (labelled 9186812) and has the actual sensor
New ones are $300 in Volvo colors, $100 for aftermarket decent brand. (Bosch or Mehle)
P80 p0340 Camshaft Position Sensor 9146108 and 9202134 (1998 MY change)

Added more info to title for search
I have two 1998s in the driveway at moment, one with each of these exhaust cam position sensors
There are no VIN breaks in FCP or at Volvowebstore, so order by part number
They are not interchangeable

You have a 98 with a Denso CPS?
Are you sure it's not a 99?
