You need to replace every oring you touch in the system. The condensor can be inspected for physical damage and reused. Drier always gets replaced.

The evaporator usually look like this and need replacement

There is a recommended time once a system has been repaired that you should fit a new drier otherwise it absorbs a lot of moisture. Aftermarket ones are ok for the most part. Only issues I have had with both the evaporator and drier aftermarket was they would not allow the snap rings to fit as they were either slightly too large or out of round on the ends. Both fixed by careful filing.

never knew anything about drier, glad you said something. going to look for one

Has to be new. The drier has silica gel inside which absorbs mositure

The Volvo mantra for maximum time open for drier replacement is 24 hours

The aftermarket Rein replacement is under $15 from FCP

I used a harbor freight air powered pump (read: not efficient) and to this day it still works, although my clutch is going slowly even with the added pressure with zip ties.

I'm assuming you are just doing maintenance with dash out. This here is my junk car soon to be trailer car. I cut out the giant wire snake that trails underneath the inside of windshield. Also 2 of the mega wiring harnesses. Lol
