Great story...

My 1998 S70 GLT blew an exhaust valve at around 180K.
I drove with 4 cylinders (unplugged the #3 injector connector).
At 190K, it lost the Reverse on at Auto Trans.

I did not have the time/effort desire to fix all that stuff.

Sold the S70 for $300 and bought a 2004 V70 with 100K, great condition...
I have to say the P2 is somewhat better built than the P80.

However, if I still have the 1998 S70 GLT, I would still enjoy driving it...

Congrats, having followed posts of yours, and of course all the others, for a few years, it's good to see it gets the same kind of care as "your work vehicles". Lot's of miles, lots of work, maybe some stress relief, and a sense of pride in ownership.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Hey, if you write to Volvo they will give you a badge for your car! It's called the Volvo Heritage Club. I got one when our car crested 200,000 miles. My daughter drives it now and it's got 260K miles. So a while to go before catching up with you, but we are determined!

Here's a quick picture.

I'll look into that again, I'm pretty sure I got the one for 200K. Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Car is running strong still, though naturally has developed a very loud exhaust rattle which is super annoying. Never a dull moment!
