2011 Volvo XC90 3.2 - Service Manual

Post by jpbrooks81 »

Hello, I have a 2011 Volvo XC90 3.2. I've been trying to find a good service manual, but am having trouble. The only book I can find is for Diesel engines. eBay has a ton of PDF versions, but I don't know which one is the best. I'm on a Mac, so I can't install a program version because they only seem to exist for Windows. I also don't want to pay a bunch of money for a subscription to an online version. Can anyone point me to a really good book or PDF version? Thanks!

You need VIDA, which is Vehicle Information for Diagnostics and Aftersales. It's a PC based software package that has all of the factory manuals and repair procedures in it. I've heard of other Mac users installing VIDA to run in a virtual Windows machine, which may be your answer. VIDA is written to run under Windows 7, although it can work ok under Windows 10.

As you look into VIDA, you will also see reference to DiCE. DiCE is the interface box between the computer (via USB) and the OBD-II port on the car.

I hope this helps!

Not sure what you are specifically looking for. VIDA as mentioned is the factory manual on a computer. If you can get it to work on a virtual machine on your mac, you can also do factory diagnostics. Then there is plenty of information in the different forums you can search and also on youtube.

Here is also an online version of the manuals. Might help with an ad blocker.

Managed to install the 2014 version of VIDA from the instructions here https://forums.swedespeed.com/showthrea ... nload-Link. Took a while to figure out how to get the VM to work via VirtualBox, but finally figured it out. Unfortunately, I didn't find the info I was looking for. All I need is the friggin' spark plug gap spec. Been searching everywhere online and apparently it doesn't exist anywhere.
