I trust FCP, but I am coming across some confusion regarding part numbers, namely that the part numbers for Contitech belts on the FCP website do not match what the Contitech website says.
The Car:
1998 V70 Non-turbo
Automatic trans
Has AC
Are these just new part numbers between Continental and Contitech? I know there was a change for the early 850s.
I'm not going to even supply any of the part numbers I have found. I am looking for someone who KNOWS for certain what I need for this car.

Continental & Contitech is the same.
Conti also.
Continental Conti are tyres,Contitech are belts(rubber and plastic).
I have Continental serpentine belt installed 2 years ago.
I'll check the numbers from the belt if you want.
It should be 6PK 1743.

RobertDIY posted recently that the continental or conitech serpentine belts have changed at FCP and are too tight causing too much stress on the pulleys. He said he had to cut one off because he couldn't remove it. Not sure if its the same part number.

Belt 6PK 1740 fits better. Not as tight. (4060685) Really doesn't make sense to me why a belt that is suppose to be shorter fit easier. The right belt should be 1752mm, 69 inches.

As abscate said....it's insane that longer belt fits tighter than shorter belt.
Proper length and part# is 6PK 1743 for whatever brand of belts.
6PK=6 channels
1743=length of the belt.

I had a similar experience in 2015 trying to install a new Contitech serpentine belt that was marked 1743 on the cardboard packaging but 1740 on the belt itself. IPD was good about that, offering me a full refund. Here's the note that I got from them at the time explaining the labeling error at the supplier:
Hi Jason,
Sorry about that! I was just alerted via my purchasing guys that Continental sent us a batch of these belts that were labeled incorrectly and were slightly too short to install on the car. As we don't have any of these on the shelf and are still working this issue out with Continental, I can't just send you a new one unfortunately so I'm going to go ahead and refund you for the original purchase of the belt as it is incorrect. Sorry about that!
Let me know if I can help you with anything else, or if you have any more questions!

Dayco makes quality belts but it's maybe not worth the confusion on sizing, I use what everyone else is using ...
