So I broke the petcock in exactly the same fashion as this guy:
viewtopic.php?t=25709
He never talked about how he replaced the petcock.
Mine is the same car, a '96 F.I. 850 Turbo.
FCP shows this part:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... ck-3547226
which looks different than mine (mine has a flathead-screwdriver slot).
Volvo parts also shows the same part, and the diagram shows the same hex-head petcock, on the opposite end of the radiator.
As far as I'm aware, the rad has not been changed and should be OE.
What is the part number to replace my petcock / would the FCP/Volvo part work as a replacement?
Broken Petcock Replacement part number?

Interesting, on my 850 I also wanted to replace the drain plug with the newer version you linked, but the threads did not match. I'm however not sure it still had the original radiator (repaced it with do88 radiator sometime later).

Well,
The dealer part doesnt look like it'll fit. The old cock is in there fully, but it leaks slowly even with no pressure in the system....
Any ideas where I could get the original, flathead-style petcock? Or perhaps know if that is a sign of an aftermarket radiator?

For future coolant replacement, remove the lower radiator hose.
Petcock removal is always a risk.
