This is the link to how to replace the boots with the boot part number:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=72387&p=381523&hili ... ot#p381523

The part number is still valid for the boot Volvo part # 1387105. Price is in the $12-15 US from Tasca and others.

Neil - Good to know, and that bellows part seems to be for 2-7-900 series conventional shocks, which I'm guessing have a similar diameter shaft as the Nivomats.
Looks like you're 2400 miles from me (don't know what that is in kilos, Muricans don't do metrics), and with the border/import tax/tariff thing, shipping might be an issue. Maybe somebody closer to the East coast has a spare pair and can help out; that would avoid you having to unpack your storage shed, too.
Thanks for getting back to me.

If it doesn't work out for you soon I will see what I can do to help. I will take some pictures of the shocks so have a Plan B if needed.

I will try to find time to check out a new company that ships stuff to Montana regularly and then ships USPS to US destinations. Guy who told me about it says about half the price of Canada Post. I've been meaning to check them out anyway so not an issue taking time to do that.

Neil.

Answering a few earlier posts, the workaround would involve both springs and shocks, as well as some bracket issue I recall from another thread; new parts may be the same money as Nivos - and out of reach in my situation. It would also put the car back in Project status, and right now it's Daily Driver. Replacing the Nivomats seems the most efficient move.
The car is driveable, and for the obvious reasons I only do a local trip now and then; it's a bit wobbly on the DC run though, so getting the solution sooner rather than later would be prudent.
As Neil posted from Calgary, he has a pair buried in storage during his remodel with the boot issue. I already have soft jaws from a ram rebuild on an old Kubota, so that part doesn't scare me, shipping across the border is an unknown.
Thanks again everybody,
JC

@foggydogg
I noticed in your profile 98V70R junkyard rescue. That is the vehicle that needs the Nivos. Do you have anything else on your parts list?

Yes, but not as pressing.
Something in the parking brake setup is making a racket; my plan at the moment is to pull the rotors off and at least have a look when I replace the Nivos.
Another disturbing noise in the rear may be the swaybar links, haven't spent much time under that part of the car.
When I got the car a while back it needed the timing belt/front of engine stuff which I did when finances and my own body parts allowed; I haven't driven it enough yet to discover many other bad habits.
I was hopeful that somebody a bit closer than Alberta could come up with a pair, just for the shipping issue - and to keep Neil from having to rummage through his storage locker during his remodel .
Thanks for checking in, I appreciate the help here.

One thing that was on the list earlier was the master window controller.

I think I found the problem.

As promised, found time to take photos of the 'Green' Nivomats sitting in garage.

Could do with paint and boots as said, but are dry. If you have the aluminum 'V' clamps then you would be able to replace the boots.
They are here if you need them.

They look way better than what is under the car now, and mine are just placeholders anyway. I tried figuring out shipping, didn't have a lot of luck with the Canada postal portal; I think I came up with a guesstimate, but got flummoxed on the Customs page. I'll go out on a limb and bet FedEx is more regardless. I've used Fastenal 3PL branch-to-branch for a few big things, but they usually deal with stuff on pallets. Since there aren't many nibbles on the thread from the East coast, could you check into shipping from your end ? My budget will look a bit better Tuesday (it's the 1st.)
Thanks for the offer, and for taking the time to dig them out.
