Re: FDPP #2
I believe the 2000 S70 ETM should work. As long as it's NA, you shouldn't have a problem.

I'd prefer the newer contactless ETM so I wouldn't have to change it again, but since I'm pretty much begging for help getting my car running again I'll take whatever I can get. As long as it was working properly before it was removed from a running, driving, car, and will work on my B5244S, NA not turbo, then I'm ok with whatever I can get. I really need to get my car running.
Thank you all for your help.

gnalan, MVS Forums member billy780 has shipped a XeMODeX rebuilt unit to you, from a 2000 S70 NA with only a few hundred miles on it. (S70 transmission failed shortly after.)
I sent you the tracking # in an email.

I don't want to celebrate or accept any thanks until it's in and working. Maybe I'm superstitious...

ETM showed up yesterday. I tried to get on the forum yesterday but it wouldn't work. I'm assuming more changes to the site?
I didn't get a chance to see if the ETM would work without any programming needed done to it. The harness running behind the starter bracket was in a place I couldn't see, or reach, so I ended up having to pull the intake off to get my ETM unplugged.
I'll update back in this thread when I get it all together again. I'm going to see if I can get the intake hot tanked to get the gunk out, and clean the pcv system out while I'm able to get to it, before putting it all back together again.

The pcv system was actually clean, which I wasn't expecting to see with all the sludge on the inside of the oil fill cap. I did find a crack in the oil separator, so I ordered a new one from FCPEuro. The new one they sent me has a ton of cracks in it, and it looks worse than the original one does with 182k miles on it. Hopefully they'll make things right and send me a replacement that isn't damaged. I don't want to have to tear everything down again because of a leaking oil separator.
Everything else looks good on the engine, so I'm hoping once it's back together it'll run like new. I wanted to have it finished by now, but with a new defective part, that I'm trying to get replaced, I can't really do anything with it right now until I get a replacement oil separator.
I do have a question, and I don't remember if I've asked it already or not. If the firmware is different between the XeMODeX ETM and my stock ETM who do I need to contact to get it updated, XeMODeX or Volvo? My trunk is full of the parts I've removed so I can't get a battery charger on the battery to check to see if they're the same or different with DiCE/VIDA.

How do I change the software from the XeMODeX ETM to match the software from my original ETM? Is this something a member can help me with online using DiCE/VIDA, or another program (I thought I saw a post in the ETM section about a couple of people being able to do this), or is it something that only XeMODeX can do? I'd rather not have to pay Volvo for a subscription, plus the software download cost, (assuming this can even be done since the hardware numbers are different) if there's a way to pull the software from my original ETM and install it onto the XeMODeX ETM.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

XeMODeX wants $279, plus shipping there and back, to send them both ETM's to be programmed.
Yagger said he could program the XeMODeX from the 2000 S70 to work on my 2001 S60 online for $100, marked down from $140.
I'm trying to finish the car up this weekend, since my loaner that I've been using I won't have access to after Sunday. Is there anyone that can help me online for less than that, or take payments? I won't have the $100 until Thursday.
