Timing Belt 2006 S60 R - didn’t lock can gears

Post by wbrenegade420 »

2006 S60R, Was replacing timing belt, stupidly without locking the cam gears, and while belt was off the cams moved. Crank is still sitting perfect at it's timing mark, so should I just realign the cam gears with the top cover and proceed as normal? Because I've also read something about making sure that the cam gears were at their 'stopped' position clock-wise lining marks with cover. I'm lost. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just move the cams back to the correct positions. VIDA instructions, as I recall, have one move the cams forward and then backwards to get the VVT hub loaded -- meaning you can move the cams backwards. Since the belt is not on the crank position will not be changed.

Ok. I will line up cams and proceed with install. Will update with ending result.
