That's Brett Borders, a national Volvo-mad treasure we have here in Colorado. He works at Swedish Motors in Boulder. Great guy.

More photos from Volvo Mayhem at Bandimere Speedway 2013.
What mods did he do? Its the 2.3, right? He musta been asleep at first  he did great though, still beat the other guy.

I think the other guy was sandbagging at the end to get into an easier bracket and Brett's launch wasn't as bad as it looked. I can't remember the mods he had, but there were a few. LSD... and it was a manual. That I know. I'll ask him.

He got back to me on Facebook: "I sleeved the block with Darren sleeves and a tubular manifold/GT3076R turbo kit from RSI and a turbo tuner ecm with a TOBZ tune.

It was definitely the fastest Volvo I’ve ever driven."

Be sure to check the engine bay photos. I made a post for it: Fast 1998 C70 5-speed Saffron.

Wow ! It looks like he's even icing the manifold. I've seen fuel lines run through ice before but not the manifold.
Very " cool " !

He wasn't the only one with engine bay ice. Hot sun, high elevation, turbo cars... all the serious owners in this Volvo group were in on it.
