Let’s test the memory. I think it’s, going clockwise

Average mph
Instantaneous mpg
Average mpg
Temperature at grill
Trip odometer
Miles to empty

The real sad part of not having the trip computer is you can’t have the heated third seat option either

Here’s a trivia fact that 99% of Volvo trip computer owners don’t know. You can clear the single averaging function ( mileage, mph, and trip) by depressing the little button for two seconds ( they know that) but if keep holding it for 3.1425926 seconds it clears all three functions in one go.

At 225K, it will be a money pit...
Unless you got it for free, I would not touch it.
My 1998 S70 GLT died at 185K...

Btw, search forum, you will see the recurring themes of common issues...

Hey hey! Yes, it is not free, but it's not outrageous. So I'm working them on the price.

But thanks fellas! We are close.

Ok, now one last question (haha)

The shifter, drive is forward, low and low 1 and low 2 blah blah ...that's all moving the car forward.

Neutral moves the car in reverse. But just between drive and neutral is the true nuetral.

Is that cable stretch and just an adjustment? Cant imagine it's a trans shifting failure. Thoughts?

Ok, so we are off to tht races!

21 bucks in gas to fill it (had some in there)

4 dollars for red valve stem tire caps
9 dollars seafoam
4 dollars air fresheners. Black ice. (I think it needs just the green trees ones....lol. Black ice is for newer cars.)

Can't load a pic for some reason. Stand by

The best thing is you can turn out the dash lights! Lol

Yes, probably the PNP switch needs adjustment. Not a big red flag. If you do adjust it, consider opening it up and flattening out the copper contacts inside. Then it will be trouble free for years to come.

Looking forward to a pic!

you currently only have a rear fog lamp. Junkyard shopping can be therapeutic and productive for these cars, and many parts are still available, like the fog lamp holders. Also, a beauty of these cars, is that they pretty much wired all the cars for all the options, so you will have a harness already in place, just need to get switches, lamps and possibly relays from the source of your choosing. And your TRACS is the module more likely than the wheel sensors. And the oil cap seal is dried out and rock hard. they are cheap and readily available. Have fun!
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)
