OK, you've got different files than the 607rev5b I downloaded a couple years ago. Good to know this has been monkeyed with.

Not a wise "update" to the baseline file considering that no HPT/m4.4 vehicle ever shipped with orange injectors. Just as any unmodified m4.4 (non-R) HPT ECU will be set up for whites.

Anyway the take-home is check the injector values, both locations, to match what you have on the car.

I think maybe they were changed to make the orange-tops the baseline, as these files were intended to be drop-ins for the M4.3 HPT cars, which had the orange-tops standard.
I dunno, I just know the default values matched those for the or-tops on the Wiki, but I'm pretty sure I also have the "rev5b" files.

If you can find 0 261 203 629 which is loaded on a M 4.3 it would be a perfect match for the engine a 16T .

0 261 203 629 is the Europe 1997 - 1997 850R software and it is mapped for a B5234T4, 16T turbo and Europe emissions.
0 261 203 628 is the North America 1997 - 1997 850R software mapped for a B5234T4, 16T turbo and North America emissions.

The 628 BIN is in the Motronic Suite Bins it would be set up for a different emissions then the 629. You would need to edit the BIN or install the North American emissions equipment.

HI all, sorry to bump up an old thread. I'm just getting started on M4.4 tuning for my Canadian model 1996 850R with factory M59 5-speed, 16T, white injectors and B5234T4 engine. I have confirmed my factory ECU is M4.3 using Vol-FCR.

From the M4.4 Wiki, I downloaded the 608 bins which seem like the perfect match for my car's specs. But what is the difference between rev_5b and rev_6 bins? I've also downloaded the software AC mod to apply to the bin.

My car doesn't come with a rear O2. Can this be disabled? What other diagnostic features should be disabled?

Thanks!

Use the rev_5 stuff, and yes you will need to do the "AC Mod".

I delete the rear O2 and the intake air sensors. Make sure you disable them on both banks.

Verify the injector values, as well.

Thanks Chuck. OK, will use rev_5b. What's the difference between the two? I noticed the rev_6 has launch control. Is rev_6 the latest version?

How do I delete the rear O2. I don't see it under the Disable Diagnostics section.

From the thread.
As I recall the rev6 was experimental and I would not recommend starting with that one. Go with rev5b; it doesn't have any perf mods, but has the mature logging routine.
The Rear O2 stuff is under "Emissions"

Thanks Chuck. I found the thread you mentioned above. It's at: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic/17 ... -question/

At the bottom of the thread, Aaron says rev_5b and rev_6 are the same but rev_6 has launch control. Sorry for the noob question, but what does this do?

I'm disabling the diagnostics bits - does 0 mean on/enabled, and 1 mean off/disabled?

In TunerPro, 1 is on/enabled and 0 is off/disabled.

Thanks Erik.

So all the "diagnostic disables" are disabled by default? When I look at the values in both rev_5b.xdf and rev_6.xdf - they are all set to 0. Also the 3 "rear cat checK" scalars in "emissions" are also disabled by default, from what I see in both .xdf files.

That said, I guess there's nothing more I have to do aside from the AC mod and setting the injector values to white injectors. Is this correct?
