1995 T-5R Locked Out

So I just experienced being locked out of the car with it running, and not sure how it is possible. Basically, I had the car running and shut the drivers door. I went to get a few things. When I came back to the car, I pulled on the passenger door handle and it locked the entire car. Does anyone know why this happened or how to prevent it?

I wonder if the car has an anti-jacking facility built into it? Not aware of Volvo's having that fitted but maybe it is possible. Other issue may be a faulty passenger door switch but can't think how that would work?
