122S auction find !

Post by foggydogg »

Just found this today, hits the block tomorrow. Aside from the fact I have enough projects, not enough bank, and it's an entire continent away...

Looks decent! Do you think those are aftermarket, painted bumpers? I see $5700 with a couple of hours left.
Same problem I have - too many other things to fix / time / money / far.

I'd like to know more about which head you used on your '62, as well as the disc brake swap.

My 122 came to me with the head and disc brakes done. I installed the swaybars, rebushed the SU throttle shafts and installed a GM alternator. Head had the pipe plug thing done to the FI ports, and the disc brake stuff may have come off an 1800. Or, it MAY not be a '62; the Older Gent I bought it from may have done a data plate repair. Looks a lot like a '67 underneath. Has the same 4-bar setup in the rear as my '69 1800 had.

So it this thing is clean and straight, and "runs and drives," why is it at Copart I wonder?

Copart seems to do charity auctions and dealer consignments, although donations are usually tagged as such.
Then there is this poor thing,

And this one is shown to be hail-damaged, as well as being identified as a 244.

Copart seems to offer consignment sales, and some stuff may be estate liquidation or charity donations. I didn't watch this one long enough to seen the hammer number; California car looking good, hope it went to a nice home.
