AWD transmission --> FWD

Hello all,
I have an opportunity to get for my s60 2.4T 2001 a transmission from AWD, but i have FWD.
My mechanic told that it could be done with few modifications.

Has anyone here made such modifications?
is it possible?

they can fabricate small blanking plate to cover the output to the bevel angle gear which normally connects to the rear wheels prop shaft.

Are both transmissions 5 speed ? Which year is the donor car ?

both cars s60 2001. 2.4turbo
both transmissions are the same, 5 speed.
only difference is, the AWD/FWD model of the car
mechanic told he just need to make few switches, and my transmission computer stays in,so it will be fwd.
its the same model AW 55-50 sn

yes it can be done, easiest and best solution is to fit the angle gear rather than trying backing plates etc.

Hopefully the donor transmission is confirmed in good working condition. All those 01-02 had the same issues. If yours is still working decently, may try first swapping only the valve body - a much easier job.

It was installed as new,few months back.
It has 20.000 km at most,but the car had total damage wreck and my mechanic pulled it out.
It was paid 5.000eur in Volvo dealership.original
Thats is why I ask,cause its good option
