Changing CAN bus Ohm Readings
Changing CAN bus Ohm Readings
I'm trying to diagnose faulty high speed and low speed CAN Bus circuits. I tried to tackle the low speed first, so I disconnected the UEM at the A pillar junction and took a reading of the UEM and got 118Ohms, then took a reading of the rest of the circuit and got 230 Ohms, a minute later I reread to confirm and I got 106Ohms, switched leads, 230, put a new battery in the multimeter, got 230, waited a minute got 106 and on and on. As much as I jiggle the wires nothing changes the ohm reading besides disconnecting, waiting, then reconnecting. I tried with the UEM connected and the REM disconnected and got the same readings. They switch between those two seemingly randomly. Any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions you could throw my way.

Are you measuring resistance on a live circuit? That won’t be meaningful
