SC-901 "Test Mode On" message after cd changer swap

Post by Piet22 »

As the cd-changer of my SC-901 is not working I recently purchased a another SC-901 with a partly defective display but a working cd-changer.
I swapped the cd-changers but now I constantly have the message "Test Mode On" on the display.
On the assumption that perhaps de serial number of the cd-changer is linked to the radio I put the original cd-changer back in but still the message appeared. I tried pressing dozens of different key combinations to get rid of the message without success.

Anyone having an idea what caused the message to appear and how to get rid of it?

Many thanks in advance,
Piet

Hello Neil,

Yes, if have both codes but I cannot use them because the "Test mode on" message appears instead of the "Code" questions.

My best guess would be a stuck key or an I/O line pulled high/low when it shouldn't be.

The CD changer doesn't have a shipping lock does it?

Just trying to throw some ideas out there...
