That's well done. One million wagons, wow.

To me, the 240 wagon is the very definition of "form follows function." It's elegant in its simplicity and obvious usefulness and good proportions.

We had the late '84 intercooled B21FT with 160-some hp. I miss that car. Although, I agree that the transition from 200 / 700 / 900 to the 850 was a leap in technology.

Thanks. I'm still due to own one. I think it was the pinnacle of Volvo's safety advantage on the rest of the field.

Even 10 years [after its introduction] the Volvo 240 was still rated as the safest car in its class by the Highway Loss Data Institute, having the lowest death rate of any vehicle on the US continent.

That is what you call a "Clear lead".

And to the typical guy on the street, Volvo is still the safest car.
