I replaced my ETM with XeMODeX several years ago. About a year ago I had intermittent starting problems and got the ETM replaced free for XeMODeX. No other side effects. Smoother idle and slightly better MPG maybe. This is a great upgrade if you plan to keep the car several more years. I also like that they chart before and after performance for the ETM.

XeMODeX may fail too?

The XeMODeX package arrived.

Now I have 3 ETM units: the failed white label Volvo original; the installed/working yellow label MM rebuilt; and the fresh XeMODeX. Do I install the XeMODeX or wait for the yellow label MM to fail? OR install the XeMODeX and keep the used MM on the shelf?

Return the failed Volvo original for core refund?

My advice is install the XeMODeX now and ship the failed ETM back. You get the core credit and should have trouble free operation (and the slight improvements) for a long time.
I think the XeMODeX failure was a fluke.
