I think if they are over 100k miles, they are worn out.

It helps to lift the car and take the suspension load off these. Then you'll see how much play or slop in the drop links.

The rattle is resolved - it was the link kit (turn stabilizer).
However, there's still a clunk.
It happens most when coming to a stop and then accelerating hard but doesn't always happen.
Sometimes a clunk, sometimes sounds more like a short sharp creaking sound.
