Unfortunately unable to find seal kit. I'm gonna get that reman MC for $45 and put that on. Can you please drop a link to the complete replacement process? About July, my friend thought that because I'm constantly working on my car (constantly changing and modding), it must be very unreliable. He said (back when I was driving my 98 XC) that I shouldn't buy another Volvo, but instead get another GOOD car. That's quite a conflicting statement. I certainly flipped that statement on him. :roll: :x I would agree if I was buying 2005+ Volvos. They quit making them so good sometime after that.

I do not have detailed information on the replacement process. You will need to find this yourself. I think you made good choice to replace the entire MC. First, I would see if you get nasty fluid out of the system. You may be able to just look in the tank and see it is nasty fluid.

I just checked and the brake fluid seems to be really clean. There is a little dark residue on the side of the inside.

The dark stuff is likely rust.

You will need either a willing helper or a vacuum pump to bleed your system.

Yes I have a friend that lets me come over to his place for major jobs. He helped me when I had to change the brake hoses on my 98 XC. He's got 40y+ of experience. If anything, I can stay home and use small and large cinder blocks. I think while I'm at it, gonna change the brake hoses. Must be pretty cracked at 19 years of use. I've already added them on eBay. About $45 additional. Unfortunately, the seller for the $45 MC just happened to 'go on vacation' until at least Nov 2. What a turd because I was planning to go to Oklahoma City the 2nd or 6th. :roll: :lol: Gotta love it. I might just wait to see if my brakes continue working as they are so I can still go. The aren't completely bottoming out. Just almost.

Two warnings:
1. Don't use cinder blocks to support the car. They crush and the car will crush you.
2. Don't take chances with failing brakes. Fix them.
