Well, I think my S70 decided to call it quits on my commute home. I got the dreaded flashing arrow followed by the check engine light. Codes P0740 and P1618. I Cleared the codes when I got home, took it for a spin around the block... Shuddering on acceleration and buzzing noises. I'm sure the Transmission is done. I don't think it's a good decision to repair this car. She went just over 292k. It sucks that I just put new front and rear brakes and new tires less than 10k ago.

Check the transmission fluid first and foremost. It may be dirty and/or low.

Oh the fluid level is fine. I change the fluid religiously every 15k. Unfortunately it shows all the signs of internal failure. The buzzing is a dead giveaway... This car has been a love/hate relationship. I have spent a lot of time and money over the course of almost 4 years. It's amazing that the drivetrain has lasted this long. Prior to this happening, the transmission never showed any signs of poor shifting etc..

Huh, that's crazy that it just gave out like that. I actually had a similar buzzing in my S90. Believe it or not, I fixed that with a fluid and filter change. Car drove great after that! I bought it for $100 with what the seller thought was a totally bad transmission.

Dragged my old '98 GLT home from Copart! Ended up winning the auction on Monday after the owner after me wrecked the car back in August. This will be a parts car at this point, I don't think it's worth fixing it.
Hooked up the jump pack when I got home and it started right up. Runs great still! Drove it off the dolly and into the garage. Not a single warning light on, but the battery is so dead, as soon as I turn the key off, it loses all power.

Sad to see it now compared to how it was, early last year when I took this picture, but I can't keep this many cars. I have 7 now... plus the other 4 on the driveway that are my parents' and brother's cars.
