Here is an ECU engine control unit for XC90. In order to get the CAN traffic from it, you firstly need to find out the CAN pinout.
The special cable was made to connect the pinout, power, and CAN interfaces.
To avoid too much wiring, I used plug-n-play CAN logger device to sniff the CAN traffic. The beauty of the device is that when it is plugged, it will automatically collect 2-CAN: 6-14, 3-11. You can unplug it anytime and it will stop.
